Answers start here. A thorough evaluation gives you a clear picture of your child's communication profile — and a concrete, actionable plan for what comes next.
The evaluation begins with listening — to you, and to your child.
Every evaluation at Speech Me Therapy is individualized to your specific concerns. We don't run a standard checklist. We select assessment tools and methods based on what your child needs and what you tell us matters most.
We combine standardized testing, informal observation, language sampling, and an in-depth conversation with you. The result is a complete picture — not just a score, but a genuine understanding of your child's strengths and areas of need.
After the evaluation, you leave with a comprehensive written report, a clear diagnosis when applicable, and a specific set of recommendations tailored entirely to your child.
We begin by listening. We ask about your child's development, history, and your specific concerns. Your perspective is essential — no one knows your child better than you do.
We observe your child in natural interaction and administer targeted standardized tests. We make this feel like play — your child won't know they're being assessed.
We share our findings with you in plain language — no jargon. You'll understand exactly what we found and why it matters for your child.
Within a few days, you receive a comprehensive written report with diagnoses, scores, functional implications, and specific therapy recommendations.
Most evaluations take 60–90 minutes. Some more complex profiles may require a second session — we'll give you a clear time estimate when you schedule so you can plan accordingly.
Previous evaluation reports, school records, or medical documents are helpful when available. We'll also send you a digital intake form to complete before your appointment so we can spend our time together focused on your child, not paperwork.
We design evaluations to feel like play, and most children genuinely enjoy the session without realizing they're being assessed. We follow your child's lead, take breaks as needed, and adjust our approach to keep them comfortable and engaged throughout.
This happens, and we're experienced at working through it. We adapt our approach, use different strategies, and gather information through observation and parent report. Even a reluctant or non-verbal child can be meaningfully assessed — we'll make it work.
We deliver a comprehensive written report within 5–7 business days of the evaluation. We'll follow up to discuss the findings together and answer every question you have before you leave.
Schedule an evaluation and walk away with real answers — and a clear plan built for your child.
